GENERAL
- This Exhibition will be conducted according to the recommended practices of the Photographic Society of America. It is open to anyone; however, an entry may be rejected when the sponsoring organization or its agent, in its reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not conform to exhibition rules and conditions. Membership in any photographic organization is not required.
- The original image must be made by the entrant. Entries must originate as photographs (image-captures of objects via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally. All images must be original and may not incorporate elements produced by anyone else. Subject to divisional restrictions (i.e., Nature, Photo Travel), images may be altered, either electronically or otherwise, by the maker, and artwork or computer graphics created by the entrant may be incorporated if the photographic content predominates.
- By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as their own and permits the sponsor to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for display and/or publication in media related to the exhibition. This may include low resolution posting on a website. The exhibition assumes no liability for any misuse of copyright.
- Digital images and/or prints so similar as to be almost identical must bear the same title. Images or prints previously accepted in any S4C International Exhibition, or so similar as to be almost identical, regardless of title, are ineligible in the same Division. Previously accepted titles in the same Division are ineligible. Titles must be 35 characters or fewer.
- Digital entries must be sent via email, with entry fee sent to the correct address as specified in each Entry Form. Print entrants must send forms and labels with their print packages.
- One entry consists of four (4) digital images or prints from one entrant, which will be distributed throughout four rounds of judging.
- All possible care will be taken to safeguard print entries, but S4C will not assume responsibility for loss or damage to entries while in transit or during the Exhibition.
- Scores of judges who are close relatives or partners of entrants will not be counted in the Entrant’s score for any of the Entrant’s images. An average of the other two judges’ scores will be used. Such images are also not eligible for Medals or Honorable Mentions, although they may be accepted into the Exhibition.
- Any entry without the appropriate fee will not be judged, forwarded to another Exhibition, or returned.

NATURE (GENERAL & WILDLIFE) DIVISION: DIGITAL
- A Nature Division entrant may enter digital images, but not slides. There are two digital Sections: General and Theme. The Theme is Wildlife.
- Entry forms must be submitted via email on the appropriate entry form with digital images attached to the email. CD’s or Slides are not permitted.
- The Nature Division is restricted to the use of the photographic process to depict observations from all branches of natural history, except Anthropology and Archeology, in such a fashion that a well-informed person will be able to identify the subject material and certify to its honest presentation. The story telling value of a photograph must be weighed more than the pictorial quality. Human elements shall not be present, except on the rare occasion where human elements enhance the nature story. The presence of scientific bands on wild animals is acceptable. Photographs of artificially produced hybrid plants or animals, mounted specimens, obviously set arrangements, any form of photographic manipulation that alters the truth are ineligible.
- A Wildlife picture is defined as one or more organisms living free and unrestrained in a natural or adopted habitat. Zoo animals or animals from wild animal farms or ranches are not eligible. By entering the Wildlife Section, an entrant certifies that the pictures are truly wildlife.
- No elements may be moved, cloned, added, deleted, rearranged, or combined. No manipulation or modification is permitted except resizing, cropping, selective lightening or darkening, and restoration of original color of the scene. No special effect filters can be applied. Any sharpening must appear natural.
- Borders are not permitted.
- Only Wildlife photographs may be entered in the Wildlife Section. Wildlife photos may be entered in the General Section also.
PHOTO TRAVEL DIVISION: DIGITAL
- A Photo Travel Division entrant may enter digital images, but not slides. There are two sections: General and Theme.
- Entry forms must be submitted via email on the appropriate entry form with digital images attached to the email. CD’s or Slides are not permitted.
- A Photo Travel image must express the feeling of a time and place, portray a land, its people, or a culture in its natural state, and has no geographical limitations. Ultra close-ups which lose their identity, studio-type model shots, or photographic manipulations which misrepresent the true situation or alter the content of the image are unacceptable in Photo Travel competition.
- The Photo Travel Division Theme is “People in Everyday Activity”. Everyday Activity means routine activities that occur daily or often during the year - such as cooking, working, playing, washing, shopping, sewing, praying, nursing, conversing etc. Special or seasonal activities that occur infrequently are not allowed - such as harvesting, birthday celebrations, funerals or weddings: these can be entered in Photo Travel General.
- No elements may be moved, cloned, added, deleted, rearranged, or combined. No manipulation or modification is permitted except resizing, cropping, selective lightening or darkening, and restoration of original color of the scene. No special effect filters can be applied.
